What is AI Career Intelligence?
Short answer
AI Career Intelligence is the practice of analysing a specific person's work - their tasks, skills and experience - to measure how artificial intelligence is changing that career. It answers four questions: how exposed the work is to AI, which strengths remain defensible, which skills are missing, and how prepared the person is for the role as it will exist next. It is a decision-support discipline, not a prediction of whether someone will keep their job.

What it means
Most career advice operates at the level of job titles. AI Career Intelligence operates at the level of tasks and skills, because that is where AI actually lands. Two people with the same job title can have very different exposure depending on how much of their week is templated, how much depends on judgement, and how much depends on relationships and local context.
The discipline borrows from workforce research that maps occupations to task sets, then asks which of those tasks current AI systems can perform, assist with, or cannot touch. Applied to one individual, that produces a picture of what is changing in their specific work rather than a headline about their industry.
The four dimensions
AI Career Intelligence is usually expressed across four dimensions. JobsAIQ uses these four, and each has its own page on this site.
| AI exposure | How much of the work can be automated or substantially assisted by AI today. Expressed by JobsAIQ as the AIQ Score, 0-100, where higher means more exposed. |
|---|---|
| Career strengths | The parts of the role that stay defensible - judgement, accountability, context, relationships and domain knowledge that is hard to transfer. |
| Skill gaps | Capabilities that are becoming more valuable in the role as it is being redefined, and that the person does not yet demonstrate. |
| Future readiness | How prepared the person is for the version of their role that is emerging, combining strengths, gaps and the pace of change in their field. |

How it works
- Collect a real profile - resume, role, responsibilities and the tasks that actually fill the week.
- Map the role to an occupational classification so it can be compared against published task and exposure research rather than opinion.
- Score exposure at the task level and aggregate it into a single 0-100 AIQ Score with a clear band.
- Separate the exposed work from the defensible work to identify strengths.
- Compare the current skill set against the skills the redefined role demands, producing the gap list.
- Turn the gaps into a sequenced plan the person can start this month.
Example
Consider a mid-level marketing manager. A title-level view says 'marketing is being disrupted by AI' and stops there. A task-level view is more useful: drafting first-pass copy, producing routine reports and building campaign variants are highly exposed; budget accountability, brand judgement, agency negotiation and knowing which of last year's results were luck are not.
The output is not 'your job is at risk'. It is: three of your weekly activities are becoming commodity work, two are becoming more valuable, and here are the specific capabilities that move you toward the second group.
What JobsAIQ does

What it is not
- It is not a prediction of whether you will lose your job. No tool can reliably make that call for an individual.
- It is not a resume checker. Resume analysis is one input, not the whole picture.
- It is not a job board or a recruiter product.
- It is not a substitute for your own judgement about your employer, market and circumstances.
Frequently asked questions
- What is AI Career Intelligence?
- AI Career Intelligence is the practice of analysing a specific person's tasks, skills and experience to measure how AI is changing their career - covering AI exposure, career strengths, skill gaps and future readiness.
- How is it different from a traditional career assessment?
- Traditional career assessments profile personality, interests or aptitude to suggest suitable occupations. AI Career Intelligence starts from the work itself and measures how that work is changing under AI, which is a question of tasks and technology rather than temperament.
- Can AI Career Intelligence predict whether AI will replace my job?
- No. It measures exposure and readiness, which are useful for deciding what to do next. Whether any individual role disappears depends on employer decisions, economics and regulation that no assessment can see.
- Who is it for?
- Professionals, job seekers, students, career switchers, and organisations that want to understand AI-driven change across their teams.
